Google Expands Free AI Training for Educators
On September 3, Google announced an expansion of its AI Educator Series, a free program that trains educators to use AI. The company offers short, self-paced lessons and plans to add modules on the first Wednesday of each month.
Google also announced Badge-a-thon, a ten-hour online event for school teachers scheduled for September 19. The event is still upcoming, rather than a launch that has already taken place: participants are promised hands-on training and the opportunity to earn digital badges.
AI Feed’s Practical Take
Educators are better served by starting with one everyday task and testing the result using their own teaching materials. For example, compare an original lesson plan with one prepared with AI assistance: what became clearer, what errors appeared, and how long did the review take? Completing a course alone does not show how well a tool suits a particular class.
The program and participation terms are described in Google’s official announcement. Before registering, check the organizer’s page for the latest schedule and requirements.
