xAI Expands Grok Bot Access Across SuperGrok and Cursor Plans
xAI expanded access to Grok Bot on August 26, 2026, adding the cloud-based agent to all SuperGrok plans, the Cursor Pro, Pro+ and Ultra subscriptions, and Cursor Teams Standard and Premium. The company launched Grok Bot in beta on August 11 as an assistant intended to handle extended work assignments.
Grok Bot receives its own usage allowance, separate from the usage attached to a subscriber’s Grok or Cursor plan. According to xAI, tasks handed to a Bot therefore do not count against the user’s existing allowance in either service.
The company describes each Bot as an always-on agent with its own cloud computer, browser and terminal access. Users can communicate with it through the same text thread from a mobile device or desktop. They can also run several Bots in parallel and place them in a group chat so work can pass between them.
Unlike an assistant limited to drafting a chat response, Grok Bot is presented as working directly inside connected applications and inboxes. xAI lists prospect research, website building and deployment, customer support, inbox management, game-asset creation, meeting attendance and refund handling among the jobs Bots are performing.
The announcement also describes human approval controls for sensitive actions. Sales outreach can be left in an inbox for the user to approve, while email deletion and cancellation of paid subscriptions occur only with permission. At the same time, xAI says Bots can sign into a user’s applications and carry out work in the actual tools.
xAI offers a macOS download from the announcement page. Enterprise users can join a waitlist while the company expands access for larger teams and organization-wide deployments; the announcement does not specify when that broader availability will begin.
Practical context: For subscribers to the newly covered plans, the practical change is the ability to assign work to Grok Bot without consuming their existing Grok or Cursor usage. However, the capabilities and example workflows are xAI’s own descriptions; the announcement provides no independent testing or quantitative measures of performance.
